Fat Night is an indie soul band based in Chicago. Friends since high school, Dan Hanson, Gabe Gundacker, Ted Issen, and Nik Ritchie started playing as Fat Night in 2011 in their hometown of Orlando, Florida.

In 2013 Fat Night released their first single, the slow and dreamy "Things You Do," on Colemine Records, which quickly sold out on its first pressing. The band followed that up with a self-titled LP the same year, then an EP titled "Lazy Days" in 2015. Between those releases, the band performed several strings of live shows throughout Florida and up the east coast, including opening slots for Gabriel Garzón-Montano (April 29, 2015) and Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires (February 21, 2016).

Fat Night relocated to Chicago in 2017 before releasing the single "Honest Man." They began performing live around Chicago, including a sold-out show with labelmates Durand Jones and The Indications at The Empty Bottle on March 3rd. They returned to Orlando to headline Ten10 Fest on October 7, 2017.

In 2018, The Indications asked Fat Night to join them for three dates, including a sold-out show at Lincoln Hall in Chicago on April 13, DIME in Detroit, Michigan on April 14, and The Basement in Columbus, Ohio on April 15. That winter, Fat Night embarked on their first headlining tour, including a sold-out shows at Will's Pub in Orlando on December 23, C'mon Everybody in Brooklyn, New York on New Year's Eve, Mahall's Twenty Lanes in Cleveland, Ohio on January 3, 2019, and The Hideout in Chicago on January 5, 2019.

In July 2019, Fat Night was invited to perform at North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, around which they booked their first European tour. This included a sold out show at The Lexington in London on July 9, two sets at Duc des Lombards in Paris on July 10, and an appearance at Festival Relache in Bordeaux on July 11. They performed a set to a large outdoor crowd at North Sea Jazz Fest on July 13. They followed up with a successful first tour of California in August 2019 with appearances at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on August 14 and Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles on August 17. The band concluded the year with three performances in Florida - a sold out double feature at Will's Pub in Orlando on December 26, a show as Las Rosas in Miami on December 27, and an appearance at Crowbar in Ybor City on December 28.

Fat Night is getting ready to release their second full-length album in spring 2020 which will feature two of their recent digital singles, "Question" and "Sweet Nothings."
